About

Put simply,  Indie Icing is your delicious dose of indie handmade.  From fabulous finds to crafty tutorials to the latest reads, we've got your creative side covered -- just like icing on a pretty little cupcake!

Read more about the writers:

The original Indie Icing and editor in chief!  Jessica's been blogging since 2007 but launched Indie Icing in November 2008.  She's had a lifelong romance with all things crafty.  (It all started with that little box of 8 Crayolas that quickly grew to 16, 32, 64, and 96.  They didn't have 120 when she was little!  But she did score some glitter crayons in her teenage years.)

Jessica blogs from her very 'burb-ish home in Virginia, where she lives with her husband, 2 kids and 3 cats.  She also blogs for StyleBakeryMom.com and now runs the I Heart Handmade market and blog. You can email her at indieicing {at} gmail {dot} com, follow her on twitter at http://twitter.com/indieicing, and check out her personal blog, bloomerie.

A contributing writer on Indie Icing since July 2009.  Christen, aka letterhappy, has been selling her paper goodness on Etsy since 2009.  She's graphically inclined and has the illustrations to prove it.

Christen creates and blogs from her sweet home in Alabama.  You can email her at letterhappy {at} gmail {dot} com, follow her on twitter at http://twitter.com/christenstrang, or check out her personal blog, Good Day Sunshine.

A contributing writer on Indie Icing since July 2009.  Robin, better know as The Fancy Lamb, has been selling her reinvented vintage pretties on Etsy and Artfire since 2009.  She has a certifiable addiction to browsing handmade goodies and finally has an excuse to justify it.

Robin creates and blogs from St. Louis, MO -- home of the Gateway to the West and the best-tasting tap water in the country.  Let's all have a glass.  You can email her at robin.eastwood {at} gmail {dot} com and follow her on twitter at http://twitter.com/thefancylamb.

A contributing writer on Indie icing since November 2009.  Alison, of A Breath of Frake Air, is a self-proclaimed social media junky. She spends more time than she should online: browsing, shopping and poking around design, creative and handmade sites. She can also be found experimenting in the kitchen, playing with her french bulldog, Nixon, or dreaming of the next place to travel.

She blogs from Orlando, Florida but is a Virginia native (go Hokies). You can email her at alisonfraker {at} gmail {dot} com, follow her on twitter at http://twitter.com/alisonfraker, or check out her personal blog, A Breath of Frake-Air.

Indie Icing was created out of a lifelong love of handmade.  We do not get paid or receive any sort of kickbacks for featuring artists on Indie Icing.  The only exception to that would be for bath & body items, which do require a sample of before writing a feature.  And that is for obvious reasons.

Advertising is offered, but none of that has anything to do with being featured.  On occasion, we may find someone advertising a shop or product on this site that we like and will contact for a feature.  But that is not the norm.

As for the links under Blog Buddies and Link Love in the sidebar, these are not purchasable.  We only share links with you that we think you'd like and are worth checking out.

That's it, folks!  Just unbiased handmade goodness delivered fresh to you.
